Can AI Build a Website? We Tried It!
Artificial intelligence has recently become quite ambitious in the field of website creation as well. There are now many tools claiming that you can build a website within minutes simply by writing a few sentences. But is it really that easy? To find the answer, we decided to try creating a website with AI ourselves.
The first step was quite impressive. When we provided AI tools with a few basic details such as the type of business, target audience, and the purpose of the website, the system generated a draft site within seconds. The homepage, services section, and even the contact page were already prepared. Visually, a “usable” website appears, and at first glance, this feels quite satisfying.
However, once you get into the details, the picture begins to change. The generated content is usually superficial and generic. Brand voice, audience-specific messaging, and points of differentiation are almost completely missing. On the design side, everything feels “correct but ordinary.” In other words, there is technically a functioning website, but it is difficult to say that it truly represents the brand.
When the SEO side is examined, a similar situation becomes clear. Although the titles, descriptions, and content structure are created at a basic level, they are not enough to stand out in a competitive industry. Critical subjects such as keyword strategy, content depth, and technical optimization are handled only superficially by AI.
Another important issue is user experience. Since artificial intelligence works through general templates, it cannot design the user journey in detail. However, a good website does more than just look attractive; it guides the visitor, encourages interaction, and drives conversion. That requires a strategic point of view.
All of this clearly shows one thing: artificial intelligence can create a website, but it cannot create an effective website. And that difference is highly important. Because a website is not built simply to exist, but to achieve results.
This is exactly where advertising agencies come into play. An agency does not only create a design; it analyzes the brand, identifies the target audience, examines competitors, and develops a strategy accordingly. The website is then shaped as part of that strategy. From color selection to content tone, and from page structure to conversion optimization, every detail moves forward in a planned way.
Artificial intelligence can be a helpful assistant in this process. It can accelerate content creation, prepare drafts, or provide ideas. However, in order to use these tools correctly and produce a truly effective final result, a professional perspective is essential.
In conclusion, in our opinion, building a website with AI is possible. In fact, it is quite fast and practical. However, for those who want to grow their brand, differentiate themselves from competitors, and build a truly strong digital presence, it is not enough. Because a good website is not only the product of technology, but also of strategy and creativity. And this clearly shows that human touch, in other words the support of the right agency, is still necessary.
